Bringing smartphones back in a big way, the Z Flip offers a smartphone experience from the inside-out but folds up like the cell phones from 15+ years ago. While for the most part the Z Flip should be similar to the previous version, a faster processor and 5G support are huge draws for this awesome new model. If you were holding out on buying the previous version of the Z Flip for something better, that something is on the way. While nothing is official until the announcement, here's what we know so far.

When it comes to the display, little is sacrificed by the Z Flips foldability. The ultra-thin glass Infinity Flex Display folds and opens up to 6.7 inches diagonally. The Dynamic AMOLED screen produces accurate colors and emits less blue light than most smartphones which means reduced eyestrain. Minimized bezels ensure you are getting more screen and less empty space. Once folded, the phone displays a cover screen that allows you to control certain features such as music or even answer calls while folded.

Also like the original Z Flip, you can expect two 12MP rear cameras and a 10MP front-facing camera. Cameras will feature the same sensors. With the 10MP front camera, video chatting has never been clearer nor easier to control thanks to split-screen controls. The battery in the Z Flip will be the same as well. Although it is difficult to say whether it will be as efficient or less efficient, especially when you consider it has an upgraded processor. The original Z Flip had 8GB of RAM and that's not expected to change much. On top of this, you'll have the choice of a new mystic bronze exterior. The original offered only black or purple.

One of the biggest changes is the addition of a new processor. The 5G Galaxy Z Flip features a Snapdragon 865+ processor that should provide superior, faster performance than before. The previous model had a Snapdragon 855 CPU. The other big change, is of course, 5G support. With 5G, you get increased bandwidth and better speeds, making for a better mobile experience. The only downside is coverage area but all that will change in time.

In terms of pricing, you can expect a similar cost to that of the original Z Flip. The 5G version should cost around $1,400. However, it is usually easy to find deals on Samsung smartphones. For instance, currently you can get up to $410 off with a trade-in or 0% APR financing. Special offers give you more bang for your buck including four months of YouTube premium and six months of Spotify. A special offer from AT&T gets you a Z Flip for just $20 per month. Expect offers like these and other incentives once the 5G Galaxy Z Flip is released.
