Alcatel 5 series

Alcatel 5 series

The new Alcatel 5 is here! Offering stunning new tech and awesome features. But it's not just the features that surprise in the Alcatel 5 Series. The design is quite nice as well. I features a sleek, lightweight plastic body with a brushed metal finish in your choice of either gold or black. The fingerprint sensor and rear camera are both encircled with a silver ring, adding to the alluring design. Light and easy to handle, this phone is a good choice for any budget. Check it out for yourself and see why this phone would be a great fit for you! Read on for more information about the Alcatel 5 Series.

The 5 Series comes equipped with a 5.7 inch, 18:9 display. This display is bright and clean though not as sharp as some more expensive phones as it only has a 1440 x 120-pixel display. The Alcatel 5 Series has a rear camera rating at 12 MP and offers a dual-lens selfie camera. The camera is a bit slow to load and to snap pictures though it may be worth the wait. The selfie camera has a 13 MP lens with a 5 MP, 120-degree lens and comes with front LED flash. When the phone detects more than two faces in the picture, it will automatically switch to its wide-angle lens to include the whole, leaving your hands free to snap away. This is a great feature in any phone, but it's quite a surprise in a budget phone. Additionally, the fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone can be used to do more than lock your phone. It can also be used as the shutter key when taking photos. The 5 Series ships with Social Mode editing tools, Instant Collage templates, and Photo Booth, which takes 4 photos in a row at a rate of 1 shot per second. This camera is a selfie lover's dream!

The 5 Series comes Bluetooth enabled and with facial recognition security, called Face Key Technology. This feature is said to use over a hundred data points to verify the user's identity and unlock the phone in under a second. It operates on Android 7.0 Nougat and has a MediaTek processor. As both of these are somewhat outdated, you might find the 5 Series lagging a bit in performance, but it may be worth the trade-off with all of the other features. It comes with 32 GB of storage but can be expanded up to 128 GB with a Micro SD card. The battery size is 3,000 mAh. It also provides a USB c port and 3.5 mm headphone jack though it is not capable of wireless charging. It should be noted that it is not water resistant.

When hearing the word "budget", many people think cheap- not so much in price but in design and performance. This may be true at times, but sometimes we get surprised. Sometimes a budget item gives a lot of bang for the buck and can nearly rival higher priced phones. The Alcatel 5 Series phone is a good example of this. Priced in varying costs between $260 and $280, depending upon where you purchase it, the 5 Series is an excellent option for a budget phone.
