All Audi Q5 models will feature the same engine, but oh what a remarkable engine it will be. The 252-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine provides powerful acceleration on the highway, while conserving fuel in the city. Paired with the Q5 is a seven-speed automatic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive. Steering is accurate and minimally weighted for optimal performance. With Dynamic Mode engaged, steering is even more controlled. Fuel economy estimates put the new Q5 at around 26 mpg combined.
The cozy cabin can provide ample room for up to four adult passengers and a child. Passengers can get in and out with no problem. It provides plenty of luxury features too, even with the base Premium trim. The cabin remains quiet, even on the highway. If you are concerned about storage space, there's a great deal of space available with the seats folded down, but of course, there are other models that perform better in this regard.
Nevertheless, the Q5 offers a whole lot for your money. Even with the base Q5, you'll get a 7.0-inch display infotainment system with a Wi-Fi hotspot and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration features. If you want a larger display, an 8.3-inch touchscreen is available. Alternately, you can opt for a 12.3-inch display with navigation system, a trip computer, phone controls, media controls, speed and tachometer. This gives drivers everything they need right at their fingertips.
When it comes to driver assistance features, the Audi Q5 is loaded with standard equipment. Automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning are just a couple of the features you can expect. Available features will include blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control. On top of this, you can expect a quality safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Last year's model received five stars overall.
It is estimated by experts that the Q5 will cost around $44K. Available packages such as a warm weather package, a Cold Weather kit and other options such as Black Optic 20-inch wheels. It's also worth noting that the Q5 comes with a four-year, 50,000-mile warranty and a four-year powertrain warranty. Complimentary maintenance is available up to a year or 10,000 miles.
